Why It Matters NOW

During Black History Month 2026, and every month - we recognize that Hip Hop has been the primary vehicle for Black social commentary, entrepreneurship, and community building in urban centers like Milwaukee.

Launching MKEHiphoparchive.com and sharing out our award winning , community driven preservation work at a high level ensures that the Knowledge of our city's past & present informs the leaders of our future.

We are building a foundation for the next level of cultural evolution. Join us!

By partnering TRUE Skool’s youth with the Wisconsin Black Historical Society Museum, the project facilitates a unique exchange where young people learn professional archival skills while discovering the lineage of their own transformative creative artistic expressions - Hip Hop!
