TRUE Skool and the Wisconsin Black Historical Society Museum (WBHSM) are proud to announce the official launch of MKEHiphoparchive.com. This digital repository stands dedicated to documenting, preserving, and amplifying the rich history of Milwaukee’s Hip Hop Culture.

CAW worked with Milwaukee Hip Hop Archive to understand the scope of our collections and make decisions about preservation, digitization, and accessibility.

A core component of this project is its focus on education and empowerment. TRUE Skool Interns were directly involved in the archival sessions, learning the process of preserving history.

The Milwaukee Hip Hop Archive Project being awarded Ruth Arts and Wisconsin Humanities grants marks a critical validation of our mission and Hip Hop Culture as a legitimate, essential humanities practice and a cornerstone of Wisconsin’s cultural record. Read that again.
