Brian 'Allstar' Franklin is a prominent figure in the Milwaukee entertainment and nightlife scene, known primarily as the CEO and lead promoter for Allstar Promotions.
You might not see much street promo out nowadays but even in Milwaukee there was one a time when you couldnt be outside without seeing posters flyers and other promo for the many local artists pushing their latest projects and parties. 'Mr. Allstar' dropped a serious contribution to the MKE Hip Hop Archive!
In the SAMPLE clip Brian speaks on the real work and ways of the street teams . What goes around comes back around again! MKEHHAP continues to expand its collection through Archive Days, which have engaged iconic Milwaukee practitioners including Doc B, Too Tough Tony, DJ L Boogie, Home Blow and Reggie “Smooth as Butta” Brown to name a few...
Contributions span oral history interviews, photographs, vinyl records, CDs, cassette tapes, DVDs, event flyers, posters, books, artist merchandise, and digital collections—building a comprehensive repository of cultural memory, one testimony at a time. Got something to contribute?
